How did big brother come about?

Brooke: As someone whose so passionate about writing, I really wanted to challenge myself and my writing in a way that would push my mind to its extremes and being shut off in that confined environment for weeks on end with people you don’t know seemed like a once in a life time experience and I really saw it as an opportunity to get to know myself way beyond I ever had before and that was the reason I wanted to take part in the show

Did you expect anything different with your experience on Big Brother?

Brooke: To be honest I had no idea what to expect, I’ve seen the show a couple of times but I really didn’t have a clue how I would think or feel when I was in there. To say I loved every second of it would be a lie because sometimes it was emotionally draining and boring and we did all have a moan now and again but what surprised me the most was how deep the connections we made in there were. These people have impacted me and changed my life more than most people have done in a lifetime, they become your lifeline and your escape from the craziness of what you’re all actually taking part in. Waking up everyday to a house of people who care so deeply about one another is an incredible feeling that I will miss every day for the rest of my life.

If you could do the show again, what would you do different?

Brooke: I’ve been trying to think of things I would have changed or done differently because I’ve been asked this quite a lot, but to be honest I’ve left that house gaining everything I wanted from it, real friendships and a deeper connection to myself and if I was to change anything then I worry these things may not have happened. I’m glad everything has happened the way it did and I would do it all exactly the same.

Will you be keeping in touch with all the housemates?

Brooke: Without a doubt I’ll be keeping in contact with most if not all of the other housemates. No one can begin to understand the emotions you go through in that house, let alone when you come out - The only people who have that understanding are the people who’ve done this show, it’s a bond you share for life regardless of whether you had a strong friendship, we’re the only ones that get those feelings and coming into the outside world and being surrounded by normality again is actually a bit scary and you’ve completely come to depend on those people you lived with in the house for safety, they’re like your comfort blanket and it’s scary not to have them around, we’re lucky that we had such a tight knit group and we all try to arrange to meet as much as possible because I know we all want to keep this bond forever.

What's next for Brooke?

Brooke: The point of me going on the show was for inspiration, it’s given me nothing but that. So now I just want to continue writing and turn my blog into more of an advice blog and just continue to share my growth with people who care to read and listen. I’m thinking about potentially starting a YouTube channel and sharing through that platform also. As long as I’m staying true to what I love, which is writing and the core practices I try to live by then I know I’ve won.

We want to give a big THANK YOU to Brooke for letting us have the interview and we wish you the best for everything to come for you.
